First class, friendly service to meet every need in a great location
Great Hotel with excellent personal service. Beautifully decorated and very clean room with balcony on the 3rd floor (305). Two bottles of water provided in the room daily. Heard no noise outside our room all of our stay, as we have in other hotels. Breakfast was delicious every morning with freshly cooked wide variety of food at all inclusive prices. The staff went out of their way to suit my gluten free diet. This hotel is in a good location in the centre of the main area of shops/bars and restaurants and easy walking distance from train and bus stations. Thank you making our stay such a wonderful experience.
The hotel was right opposite the beach...
The hotel was right opposite the beach with all the facilities you need for a beach holiday. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the rooms were a very generous size. The staff throughout the hotel were very helpful and provided ab excellent service. Sarah in the restaurant looked after us very well she was polite friendly and efficient

L'absence de piscine est compensée par la proximité de la plage et d'un service très accueillant
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the staff are so pleasant and friendly, they really helped to make our stay feel special. The breakfast choice was extensive with a buffet and made to order options too. The food in the restaurant in the evening was also delicious and plentiful. I would not hesitate to come back to this hotel and Viareggio itself is so well placed for travelling to other areas of Tuscany. We found the italian train service to be very efficient. Beautiful area to visit and the beach across the road is spotless and well kept. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed with plenty of storage space. One of our favourite holidays.
We left with a strong feeling that had a stay at the 5 star Hotel...
We left with a strong feeling that had a stay at the 5 star Hotel.I travel really frequent and can say that the staff, the room(bathroom also), breakfast, dinner that everything was worth 5 stars. If I ever come back to Viareggio (at that may happen already next summer)) I will have no doubts where to stay. Sincerely thank everyone at Hotel President for my wonderful memories! Believe or not completely no complains during our stay.
5 Star Hotel!
The Hotel President in Viareggio is a first rate, top quality establishment and it was a pleasure to have stayed there for our holiday in July. The staff are super friendly, very professional and extremely helpful in everything they do. The restaurant serves an excellent breakfast with both buffet and menu options. The food is beautifully prepared and expertly served. Evening meals are also excellent and very good value, again service is first rate.
The rooms are spacious, well appointed and kept very clean. The large double bed was very comfortable and efficient air conditioning kept the room at the right temperature despite the heat outside. This was helped by the built in electric blinds which prevented the sun from overheating the room.
The bar area is also very comfortable and not bad value for a 4 star hotel. Again the staff are excellent and take time to engage and talk to their guests.
The hotel is located towards the port and is only a short walk from both the bus and train terminus. From our experience we would strongly recommend the train service which is both good value and punctual, neither of which could be said for the bus service.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Viareggio and in particular our time at the President Hotel.
Very good hotel
We had a double room with two balconies which looked out over the ocean. The room was spacious with shutters, air conditioning and a very good bathroom. It was very clean and the towels were replaced often. We could get beach towels from reception.
The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was adequate. Bacon and eggs were included in the buffet but you were able to order other food from the kitchen, which was included in your room rate. We went to the beach club Irena and were able to get a discount, for two sunbeds an umbrella and two deck chairs the rate was Euro 20 per day. The beach is very clean and it only took a couple of minutes to get there.
The hotel is situated in the middle of the beach road so was an easy walk to the port or the shops at the end of the road. There are several good restaurants nearby.
Fantastic location. Staff is great...
"Fantastic location. Staff is great. Lots of choice at breakfast. Rooms was very comfortable with great air con. I don't have any negatives. Just a little advice. If you are travelling light like I did and dind't pack an iron, the hotel do not provide one. They do however charge per item of clothing that needs ironing. I only needed a dress which was fine. PLus it was ironed better than I ever could and the prices per item are pretty reasonable. Great stay. Would love to go back. Yes there hotel cheaper to stay at but I definitely think you get what you paid for".

Great service, great food and great location - what more could you want?
This was our fourth stay at Hotel President over a period of 22 years and we have found it to be consistently and dependably good. It served us well when my son was a small child and still suits our needs as an older couple.
Rooms are comfortable, impeccably clean and in good repair. We have stayed in different rooms and all have been quiet and very comfortable.
The breakfast is excellent - whether you opt to help yourself from the buffet or choose from a wide range of dishes freshly prepared to order. The menu for evening meal changes each day. We had intended dining out but the quality and range of the Italian dishes in the restaurant meant that we dined at the hotel every evening.
The hotel is perfectly located, mid way along the promenade, with its many bars and cafes, and opposite the private "Beach Irene"\, with which the hotel has an arrangement giving access to residents. For sightseers, the advantage is that the hotel is little over 10 mins walk from the train station which has frequent services to Pisa, Lucca and Florence, There is also a large, shady park filled with pine trees only a couple of minutes walk away.
Finally, a word of praise for the welcoming, helpful and very friendly staff who did so much to make our holiday enjoyable. Thank you all for making this such a pleasant stay.
"Spotless clean, they were making up the room twice a day. Very good breakfast and they have offered a complimentary dinner, drinks included. Amazing desserts. Beach towels provided by the Hotel on daily basis, 2 min walk from the beach and discount on the sunbeds on the beach fro the hotel guests".

"This Hotel is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in, only one in Sorrento runs it close. The staff, accommodation and location was excellent, food standard was good, but not if you prefer burgers and chips. We would take this hotel with us everywhere if we could".

I have just returned home to Canada after spending a fabulous two week vacation in Tuscany.
I am sending this email to you to let you know just how wonderful my stay at your hotel was.
I take a trip to Italy every year with Senior Discovery Tours and have stayed in many hotels however your hotel is THE BEST HOTEL I have ever stayed in.
I feel the reason for this is because of the wonderful people you have working for you. They were always pleasant, accommodating with a friendly smile and EXCELLENT SERVICE.
Thank for making my stay at your hotel a time that I will never forget.
Very Nice Hotel
We spent 3 nights at the President Hotel as we were attending the Puccini Festival. We liked the hotel very much. The location was good, the hotel was very clean and the staff were efficient and friendly. Our room was comfortable with a small balcony overlooking the sea. The breakfast was particularly good for an Italian hotel, the real bonus for us being freshly squeezed orange juice! We took the train to Viareggio from Pisa Airport and were able to walk to the hotel. The hotel also has an arrangement with a good lido across the road for reduced price sunbeds. An excellent base from which to explore this region.
Beautiful room and great service
Stayed a couple of nights at the end of a longer trip. Hotel is well located on the main strip of Viareggio with easy access to lots of restaurants and shops. Room (standard double) had been recently refurbished and was bright and airy with modern electrical controls for the lights, air con and shutters. Room and whole hotel was spotlessly clean and stylishly furnished.
Staff were friendly and welcoming and happy to sort out beach locations and to help us with trains and taxis.
Breakfast was included and was very well presented and organised with something to suit everyone either from the buffet or the a la carte menu.
All in all a lovely hotel and the only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.
Perfect base for Tuscany and a lovely hotel
Couldn't wish for a better base to explore Tuscany. Excellent hotel with wonderful staff. Viareggio is a real favourite of ours and would recommend it to anyone. Pros: Staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms spotlessly clean. Breakfast is to die for! Cons: Nothing we can think of.. Location: Viareggio is a perfect place to explore Tuscany, public transport from train and bus station close by, with Pisa, Lucca, Florence within easy reach.
We stayed at this hotel for 10 days in early June and were not disappointed. The best thing about the hotel are undoubtedly the staff, from the ladies and gentlemen on reception to the maids, all are so helpful and cheerful. The hotel is in a prime location for the beach and about a 10 to 15 min walk from the railway station. My husband needs gluten free food and they went beyond the call to accommodate him.We stayed most nights for evening meals in the hotel and Lila from the dinning room always made sure we had a gluten free meal, even when it was not on the menu.Would we go back to this hotel definitely.
Excellent hotel in an idea location for sea front, harbour, shops and railway station to travel out
The staff were excellent, very helpful ,nothing was too much trouble. Efficient, polite and always a smile. The position of the hotel was ideal,on the front ,and we had a sea view. Our room as spotless, lovely comfy bed, VERY good air conditioning (important when the weather very hot) and quiet too ! The wardrobe was a good size with plenty of coat hangers ( Makes a nice change )! Plenty of choice for breakfast , bacon, eggs melon, cereal, fruit, numerous cold cooked meats and delicious cheeses. Cannot forget the croissants, especially the custard ones. Coffee delicious too.
Wished we could have stayed longer.
Top rating for service
You will be hard pressed to find better service at the front desk and in the restaurant on this four star hotel. The staff are the stars of this hotel. Not only pleasant they go out of their way to make you comfortable. It is not a large property but if you happen to have a balcony you will no doubt enjoy the view of the beach across the promenade. Would I stay there again? Absolutely.
Corking view from a very nice hotel
"We booked a third floor room with balcony and were not disappointed - the room was comfortable (as was the bed), had a large ensuite, adequate storage and safe plus a fridge and television but..most significantly, a fantastic view of the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea (basically the Mediterranean). The balcony was small but fine for sitting out on enjoying the spring sunshine, people watching and super yacht spotting. The reception staff were excellent (knowledgeable, helpful with good communication skills), ditto the breakfast staff (very polite and attentive) and the housekeeping staff (super clean rooms and smart public areas). Turning to the breakfasts, tasty, very very tasty...what a fantastic choice. Very well done Hotel President, we will be back."
Last night in Italy holidays, great!
"Cant go wrong with lovely view on beach and sunny weather for our last day in Italy holidays :)
They say part view of sea but if you are on balcony you can see most of it while fitted on a chair :)
Room was immaculate white, super clean, all at our disposition, included prosecco bottle on our arrival ! They really made this hotel well, included are wall plugs ready for different countries plugs. fully serviced. Amazing !
Great buffet breakfast which made us forget to have lunch lol
Recommended if you want to spend last night near pisa airport but still feeling sea side resort holidays."
Nice hotel in an excellent location
"I stayed at this hotel with my husband and baby son, and we had a problem-free experience. The hotel room was clean, the staff were lovely and helpful, and the hotel itself was perfectly located across the street from the beach. We only had breakfast in the hotel, but it was substantial, and there was a lot of variety. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we're in Viareggio."
Excellent Hotel Experience
"The entire stay was fantastic and we wish we could have stayed longer than one night. On our next trip to Italy we will surely be visiting Hotel President again. This hotel was well situated across the street from the Beach Clubs and only a few blocks from the train station which makes it a great spot to stay for a while a travel back and forth through this area of Italy. The hotel was one of the nicer spots in Viareggio and the rooms were spacious. We ended up getting the double balcony room which apparently is one of the nicest rooms in the hotel but it was a good value and allowed for an excellent view of the beach and the sunset. I would highly recommend staying at Hotel President if you are traveling to Viareggio"
"We booked and stayed in the standard double room which was the cheapest of the hotels rooms and it was great. The bed was super comfy and the room had everything we needed (including English channels on sky).
Breakfast is amazing and everything you could want and more. We dined in the restaurants hotel on two evenings because we enjoyed our meals so much and the service is impeccable.
But what really makes the hotel so great is the employees! The barman was really friendly and made us feel welcome and we had a good chat about the local area. The waiters and waitresses are so friendly and ensure that service is of super high standard. There is always someone on reception who are very helpful, we visited during the public transport strike which the receptionist pointed out to us.
Overall we would visit here again and I would recommend people dine in the restaurant when they do visit."
Solo female Traveler applauds Hotel President
"As a solo female traveler I felt safe comfortable and relaxed at Hotel President. Perfectly located on the beach and great beach set up with beach Irene. Room was spotlessly clean and well appointed and loved my ocean view room. Staff was very accommodating and helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delightful, great selection including champagne. Enjoyed a glass of wine in the lobby bar complete with beautiful antiques. Totally delightful experience and I would DEFINITELY stay here again if I return to Viareggio."
What a fantastic way to experience Carnivale Viareggio!
"Our room was fantastic with a view of the carnivale parade. Staff was friendly and attentive. We will stay here again!"
"I booked the Hotel President based on location, photos and price. We were only staying two nights as a rest stop during a month-long trip. Since they didn't have their own parking facility, we expected the street parking to be a hassle. it wasn't. My husband found a spot a few steps down from the hotel entrance and the lovely gal at the reception was able to issue a ticket to be placed on our dashboard, stating that the parking had been paid and we didn't have to move the car until we left two days later.
Everything about the hotel was lovely and I regretted not staying longer. We had an oceanfront room with a balcony where we watched beautiful sunsets each evening and the breakfast and service was over the top.
Of course, we were there to relax on the beach and anticipated having to pay a small fortune to a beach club for the privilege. The hotel had an arrangement with one of the beach clubs for $10. For this they provided entrance, two lounge chairs and an umbrella. The hotel even supplied beach towels. What more could you ask for?
When we asked for a recommendation for dinner, we were referred to a restaurant that was so good, we went back twice.
The combination of accommodation and service made this hotel well worth the price."
A perfect place for a perfect stay
"Lovely boutique style hotel, very comfortable room, great staff and exellent service. Restaurant serves tasty local dishes with a large variety of wines by the glass and bottle. Breakfast serves a large choice in continental dishes, and full english a la carte, included in your room rate. Can't wait to be back!"
Nice, clean hotel with good service, great rooms.
"Nice hotel situated on the boulevard running along the ocean boardwalk. No traffic noise. Beautiful beach across the road with both public and private beach area. Beach vouchers for private areas available from the reception. The room was nice, clean, big with all facilities and a big bathroom. The room had a little balcony with chairs and view to the ocean. Breakfast was part of the room rate, very nice with fresh juice, smoothies, a-la-carte and buffet. For opera lovers - especially Puccini operas - this hotel is perfect. The opera bus stops outside of the hotel and takes you out to Lago Di Puccini where you can experience fantastic operas in the big out door opera theater. The bus takes you back again, in the middle of the night when the opera is over."
Excellent experience, best breakfast ever
"This hotel is a gem. It's right on the strip, and the hotel has an affiliation with a private beach club across the street. For a fee, you can rent two beach chairs and an umbrella (already set up) for the day. The hotel itself was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Although we didn't meet too many other English speakers while we were in Viareggio (we did run into a few Brits, though by and large Viareggio is popular with vacationing Italian families), the hotel staff spoke English and was able to answer any question we had. The best part of this hotel, besides the awesome view from our fifth-floor corner room, was the breakfast buffet. I have never seen such a good spread included in the room rate -- all types of hot food and cold, fruit, smoothies, even a bottle of prosecco on ice should you want to make mimosas with their fresh-squeezed OJ. And a separate menu with wait service, also included in the rate. My toddler ate her weight at breakfast every morning, and she's a picky eater. What a great experience all around".
“Just arrived home after being thoroughly spoiled at Hotel President. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The cleanliness was second to none, the food fabulous. The bedrooms were lovely and well looked after. The beach was literally just across the road and the beach bar also first class. The beach staff also made sure all our requirements were attended to quickly and efficiently.
Certainly, for us, the best hotel ever. With luck, we'll be back next year as well!!"
